Drainage Pipe Construction, Balmorhea State Park, 1934 - 1936

To maintain the spring flow, the irrigation district had had to drain water into a long, wide open ditch that extended across many acres.  To be able to build on the site, the CCC enrollees constructed concrete pipes to carry the water seventeen feet below ground.  Here the men position sections of the pipe to test their strength.  Then the CCC could build on the park.
