Dam Construction, Cleburne State Park, 1936-1940
When moving earth for the dam the company had access to scrapers (soil excavation, moving, and dumping machinery) pulled by dozers. When soft soil or steep slopes led to traction difficulties, they could chain multiple dozers together to pull the scraper. The upper scraper unloads its contents. The man on the right, who is wearing a white shirt rather than the darker work shirt worn by the CCC, is likely a LEM (local experienced man) or a supervisor.
