FDR Joins the CCC for Lunch on a Happy Day, August 1933

President Franklin D. Roosevelt frequently escaped the humid Washington, D.C. summers with weekend automobile caravans into the countryside. On August 12, 1933, he and an entourage of CCC advisors visited a CCC camp at Shenandoah National Park.
