Texas State Parks Board, San Antonio, July 1924

In 1923 Governor Neff pushed for legislation to create The Texas State Parks Board in order to develop a strategy for securing public land along Texas highways. Their meeting here was likely in preparation for a caravan through rural Texas to solicit donations from landowners for roadside parks. From left to right, David E.
