Uncompleted Work, Huntsville State Park, 2008
While CCC construction efforts continued at Huntsville State Park, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor engaged the United States in World War II. The CCC camps shut down as the armed forces focused on training the flood of enlistees. This left the CCC with some projects incomplete, and still others only planned. This stone culvert is still in the construction stage. The soil on either side of the drain has not yet been shaped into a gentle slope.
