Lookout House, Lake Brownwood State Park, c. 1939
Lake Brownwood's scenic shoreline included a large peninsula jutting into the lake, an ideal site for a park to be developed. The park's elevated vantage points across the lake inspired the CCC to place this limestone block shelter above the pier and near the combination building, thus tying the land to the lake.
