Chevrons for the CCC Uniform, 1933-1942

Administered by the U.S. Army, the CCC camps used insignia that mirrored the military's command structure. Arm patches signified rank: generally, more stripes indicating greater authority within the ranks of the enrollees. These chevrons belonged to a corporal, probably an assistant leader in the camp.
