Legacy of the CCC

The parks originally built in the 1930s and early 1940s are still well-utilized today, and efforts are underway to preserve and protect them for future generations.

Restoration Projects

Well over 1,000 buildings, structures, and features built by the CCC remain in Texas state parks. They have much to tell us about prevailing theories of architecture in the 1930s, about the CCC and the enrollees who built them, and about the Great Depression. They offer an enduring and valuable historical resource.
